January 2014 TBR pile

I've been slacking but not in a general sense of slacking. I have been reading. Just not the right kind of books.

My eARC pile has grown over the past couple of months. I send requests like a mad woman and when I get approved, the poor books just get stuffed on my tablet. I got a new, shiny Kindle just a week ago so I've been adding NG and Edelweiss on my auto-approved contacts list and transferred all of my still active egalleys.

I divided the pile into 2 groups. The eARCs and sequels coming out this months to make things easier for me.

eARCs

I know there are a lot of them. Hope I'll get through them fast because I don't really want to leave them 'for later' which means never. I've already read The Promise of Amazing. Didn't like it and never wrote a review.Still need to read The Madman's Daughter and only after I finish with it I will be able to read Her Dark Curiosity. *sigh* I have so much work ahead of me.

Sequels & Conclusions

Into the Still Blue made it to the second group too. I wanted to read this sooner. I got approved sometime in late August or September but the time just flew. Can't wait for Evertrue and Unhinged. Everbound and Splintered were among the first 4 books I've read this year. Everbound review should be up on Monday. Not sure if I'm going to write a review for Splintered. We'll see..

Monthly To Read List: November 2013 + October recap

I'm really glad November is not filled with a lot of books I really want to read though it does have two books  I'm dying to read.

November New Releases:

Sydrian are SPOILER having sex in The Fiery Heart and half of the book will be in my prince Adrian's POV. Who doesn't want to read that?
I still haven't read Prodigy but I have it so I'll get to it once Champion arrives. I heard there's a killer cliffhanger in the end of Prodigy and that's the main reason I still haven't read it. But soon!
My body is not ready for World After. *insert give it to me gif* Raffe! OMG! Can't wait! I'll just stop before I start fangirling over here. TBD better dispatch it soon or I'll freak! Apparently there are copies in UK bookstores right now.

As you can see I'm cutting back on new releases because I just don't have the time to read every book I find interesting. In stead I think I'm going to read some of the books I've had awhile. I'm not entirely sure why I haven't read them till now but I'm going to try and read at least 4 of them till the end of this month.

I've decided to divide them into 2 categories- sequels and new series.

Sequels:

I read Blood Red Road months ago and was suppose to start Rebel Heart but changed my mind and eventually forgot all about it. Oops.
Started reading The Dream Thieves after it arrived but I was ambushed with work and abandoned it. I'll read it soon because the fifty pages I read were very interesting. I have a hunch I'll like the sequel more than the first novel. The same thing happened when I was reading Maggie's Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy.
If I don't read Siege and Storm and Crown of Midnight by the end of this year I'll consider it a failure.  They were one my top 10 most anticipated sequels of 2013 (mental) list.
Some people might think I'm weird for not reading Clockwork Princess already. What can I say, I saw the family tree on the inside of the dust jacket and found out who Tessa ends up with so I was mainly angry at myself for being so careless.

New Series:

I already halfway through Daughter of Smoke and Bone and I'm loving it. I can't believe I haven't read it sooner. My friend +Lynn Kho was pushing me to read them before but I guess it just wasn't the right time.
The Diviners and In the Shadow of Blackbirds are both historical and kind of creepy so I just had to have them.
I won an ARC of Stormdancer last year but never read it. This summer I had to buy an UK hardback because it was only 3euros. I'm loving the cover of Kinslayer. It's so pretty! Have to read them if not this month, then at least by the end of this year. The whole samurai and steampunk combo screams awesomeness.

Sorry for the lack of posts yet again. We've been really busy.

Monthly To Read List: October 2013 + September recap

Want to know which upcoming October new releases I'm really excited to read? I'm going to pre-order Allegiant while it's still cheap. Just One Year has been pre-ordered months ago. I can't fool around with Gayle Forman.

October New Releases:

I'm so sad Allegiant and Bold Tricks are the final pieces of puzzle in two incredible stories I couldn't get enough of, even though Insurgent was disappointing. I've been a fan of these books since forever. I'm planning to get the audiobook of Unbreakable. The wonderful Candice Accola is the narrator. Give me more Simone Elkeles and Lucy Christopher! They haven't released anything in awhile and I'm getting impatient. Luckily, the wait is almost over. Horde is another must have! I might check Perfect Ruin and Teardrop, depending on the reviews.

September was another slow month here on, YA Fanatic with Devyani studying and me working. It's hard to find the time to read and write review every few days. But I'm trying to stay active and post as much as I can.

Monthly To Read List: September 2013 + August recap

It's that time of the year! September has arrived and it bringing so many exciting new releases. I only pre-ordered Fangirl but I'm going to order The Dream Thieves soon and I won The Coldest Girl in Coldtown. Here are the new September releases I'm going to read for sure.

September New Releases:

I know this is a lot of books but keep in mind it's September we're talking about. It's the biggest book month, in my opinion.Fingers crossed I'll have enough time to read at least half of them. You can click on pictures for more info.

Like every year, I have a lot of work to be done around our house so I don't have plenty of time to read. Most of the time audiobooks've been my saviors. I put my headphone's on whenever I'm working and I did read a lot of urban fantasies, again. I've read 29 books in August! Oh,wow. :O But I didn't review most of them because I'm usually so tired I can't wait to fall asleep. Here's the link to my GR challenge if anyone's interested in what I've been reading.
