Kacey Cleary’s whole life imploded four years ago in a drunk-driving accident. Now she’s working hard to bury the pieces left behind—all but one. Her little sister, Livie. Kacey can swallow the constant disapproval from her born-again aunt Darla over her self-destructive lifestyle; she can stop herself from going kick-boxer crazy on Uncle Raymond when he loses the girls’ college funds at a blackjack table. She just needs to keep it together until Livie is no longer a minor, and then they can get the hell out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
But when Uncle Raymond slides into bed next to Livie one night, Kacey decides it’s time to run. Armed with two bus tickets and dreams of living near the coast, Kacey and Livie start their new lives in a Miami apartment complex, complete with a grumpy landlord, a pervert upstairs, and a neighbor with a stage name perfectly matched to her chosen “profession.” But Kacey’s not worried. She can handle all of them. What she can’t handle is Trent Emerson in apartment 1D.
Kacey doesn’t want to feel. She doesn’t. It’s safer that way. For everyone. But sexy Trent finds a way into her numb heart, reigniting her ability to love again. She starts to believe that maybe she can leave the past where it belongs and start over. Maybe she’s not beyond repair.
But Kacey isn’t the only one who’s broken. Seemingly perfect Trent has an unforgiveable past of his own; one that, when discovered, will shatter Kacey’s newly constructed life and send her back into suffocating darkness.
Kacey has a lot on her plate. She has to provide for her sister,Livie after the escaped their uncle who tried to make a move on Livie. She is still having trouble with losing her parents, best friend and boyfriend in a car crash. But she meets Trent,a mysterious guy,who moved into the same building the same day they did. Kacey is on a sex fast after she figured out it doesn't help her forget the past. But she can't shake the attraction she shares with Trent.
For me,they moved a little too fast. Wish they took their time to get to know each other better. I didn't get why did Kacey fall so fast for Trent after staying away from guys for two years. Where did that came from? Is he so irresistible she has to stop herslef from jumping his bones every time she sees him? We also discover Trent's dark secret and watch him deal with it,along with Kacey.
The first part didn't work for me at all,but the second is much more enjoyable. I guess you have to go crazy to please me.

Top Ten Books I Read In 2012
-in no particular order-
We both picked
We both picked
The Storyteller by Antonia Michaelis-
Zemira-Sweet mother of God... I am still speechless when it comes to The Storyteller. I don't think I cried this much after reading Forbidden. I just can't express all of my feeling towards this book. I only read it once. I just don't have the strenght to pick it up again because I know it will destroy me even though I know what happens.
Devyani- Here's what you do to kill yourself and then cry about it or maybe just puncture your heart and soul...read this book.
Zemira and Devyani- For the both of us , this book was close to perfect and we loved every bit of it! Man,oh,man. This book blew our minds and what we love about it(everything) is that it came out of the blue. After reading it we was one of those crazy possible stalker fans and we persuaded(read made) almost all of my friends read it. Can't wait for the sequel, Dirty Red.
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo-
Zemira and Devyani- Almost everybody loved it!! Z- Do I even need to explain myself for loving this book? 2012 was a great year for the return of fantasy genre. I was never truly a fan of fantasy but after reading S&B I changed my mind
Night Beach by Kirsty Eagar- So,I didn't really enjoy Raw Blue by Kirsty but the synopsis of Night Beach was so mysterious I had to give the author another try and it was so spooky. It was a cross between psychological thriller and horror. What's not to like?
How to Kill a Rock Star by Tiffanie DeBartolo- Tiffanie! Tiffanie! Why you no write more books? *shakes fist* I mean, this lady writes the most realistic characters in the adult romance genre. Plus it has Paul and rock'n'roll. You can even learn a thing or two about the industry reading this book.
Falling Under by Danielle Younge-Ullman- Another great adult novel. What I love about this book is that it's not afraid to feel pain and it brings you with it on a journey where you can't help but root for the main character and hope things will work out. Really, really good writing.
Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson- I wanted to read this book the moment I read the title. But, you know, hardbacks are really pricey so I waited and waited till one day I found it for $6 on Fishpond! My gut was right and this book was magical and melancholic. And the writing is spectacular. I was so touched I cried like a baby in the end.
Drowning Instinct by Ilsa J. Bick- After finishing this book I felt like someone suddenly slapped me in the face. There were so many twists and turns I had no time to think about it. Since I was listening to audiobook it was even more realistic because the main character is telling this story through a dictaphone.
The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay- Since I didn't like Pushing the Limits like the rest of the Goodreads population I felt kind of cheated I didn't get what I was looking for. But after a couple of months I found it in this magnificent book. I love it so much.
Seraphina by Rachel Hartman- This was my first novel which had dragons in it and I have to say....It blew me away! It was such a perfect start to a (let's hope) perfect series. All those secrets. THAT chemistry. THOSE DRAGONS SCALES.Can't wait to read the next one!
Iced by Karen Marie Moning- To say that this was one of my best reads is an understatement.
My anticipation for this one here knew no bounds. Barrons and Mac had together or maybe JUST Barrons totally swept me off my feet with the fever series and Dani was one particular character who I always liked. So imagine a trilogy from the POV of a fourteen year old F1-racing-heart-breaking-badass-monster-killer-super-flash-justice-league girl who is so naive yet totally kickass.
Oh yes your Barrons counterpart is Ryodan. And his whole character scares the shit out of me..in many ways.
Adorkable by Sarra Manning- Somehow when I start to think about my favourite reads of 2012 , this book always slips up out of nowhere. It's about this eccentric girl who is a teenage version of Lady Gaga and is a total realist , a total badass and loves HARIBO!! (And I LOVE HARIBO.)Now Imagine this girl who intimidates the hell out of everybody fall for a guy who is a total school heartthrob and a perfectionist and is half-asian. Yeah , seems cliche but behold my friends this book will blow you away.
Quintana of Charyn by Melina Marchetta- Because everybody deserves a happy ending. Everybody loves Marchetta and you're crazy if you didn't.
Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor- It's monstrous.
So much different , edgier , gorier , scarier , blow you away-ier , kill you slowly-ier , tension maker and yes, amazinger than THE DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONES.
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein- This book really did me in. It's not easy to get into this book initially because it's kind of boring. But patience and VOILA! You have yourselves a beauty! A book about bestfriends , love , survival , hope and tears. Should be given a try atleast.
In case you haven't noticed,we cheated a little. Give us a break. There are two of us!

Because Zemmy is the rabbit and I , the tortoise.
As I told you all the last time , My credit card had been taken away from me because of my shopoholic tendencies that seem to take over me now and then. BUT guess what ? GOOD NEWS! I got it back and to treat myself , I indulged in a little shopping spree.
I usually spend all my money on books , so this time I made sure I bought myself some decent clothes.
But you can't take the book out of a bookworm so I sneaked in A Million Suns by Beth Revis and The Book Thief by Markus Zusak for my personal happiness.
I've had A Million Suns with me for a long time now but that was in ebook form. When I saw the paperback , I knew that I had to get it even though I already had it in my kindle. I know I should be happy but different cover designs of books tend to irritate me. I'm a huge freak when it comes to this. I was in a similar situation when I ended up with the UK cover version of Insurgent and not the US one which was similar to my copy of Divergent.
The Book Thief was one book I always had fancied but never got a chance to buy. But now that I have it! I am more than excited. Also isn't Markus Zusak a tad cute? :D
Now as you may recall I also said that this week was fucked up?
That's because I also lost my freaking phone.
My phone was my baby. I had everything in it. And now..it's not there.
SO..now I'll have to save some for buying myself a new phone. DRAT!
Along with many other things! This week , for me , began with the Navy Ball!
Every year on the 4th of december we have the Indian Navy Day and it's a grand event which last about a week. Around this time we have this extravagant evening hosted by the Navy. This evening is basically a ball called the Navy Ball and it's one in a million. And I got to be a part of it this year!
It was so beautiful , I can't even begin to tell you all how giddy I am , even when I think about!
There were all these beautiful women wearing beautiful dresses and gowns and all those proud officers of the Navy in their ceremonial attire and well , me being a defense kid got to be a part of it and just enjoy it.
Here are some pictures :)
that's Sunidhi Chauhan , a very celebrated Bollywood Singer.
another one of her!
Neeraj Sridhar! Another one of Bollywood's celebrated singers and also part of the band , Bombay Vikings!
the crowd in general.
This was me with my bestfriends who flew all the way for the ball!
Yeah.We climbed the stage like idiots.
So that's all for this week! Happy Reading you all ! Happy Holidays :)

What is happening fellow YA Fanatics? Did you get any good books this week? If you did, please, link us up!
I didn't get a lot this time. I didn't order much cause I've been broke since I spent tons of money last time.
Naughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman
Any respectable blogger had already heard of these books. I got this boxed set at such a low price- it was only 16euros!!! For some reason it was 51% off on The Book Depository. Can you believe that?
And I almost missed that amazing offer.
These new covers looks great, don't they? I'm glad there is a little bit of color, just to shake things up. Still haven't got a chance to read them, but I will,as soon as I find the time to finally read the actual paperback. It seems that all I'm doing lately is to read kindle titles and ignore my beautiful books that smell wonderful.
1, Falling by Jolene Perry
2. Scarlet Woods by Brooke Passmore
1. 'Till World Ends by Julie Kagawa, Ann Aguirre and Karen Duvall
2. Indigo Awakening by Jordan Dane
3. Dancing in the Dark by Robyn Bavati
I'm not sure if I'll be reading Indigo Awakening and Dancing in the Dark but I have to know more about the world before The Immortal Rules.
I'm currently reading a memoir even if i am and I can just feel it's going to break my heart. 2 weeks ago I've read The Sea of Tranquility and I am still stunned how great that book was. It was so great,I had to stop myself from re-reading it right after finishing it. So if there is anybody looking for something like Pushing the Limits, you've found a perfect book because this is even better than PtL. I didn't like PtL at all,but a lot of people did. Almost all of my friends.
Once again,I'm joining 2 new reading challenges. Can't wait to start!
The challenge is to read every single 2013 release you own. Doesn't sound so bad, since I tend to ignore books after I get them. Only paperbacks, hardcovers and ARCs count.
