Bloggy News

Hello,fellow Fanatics!

We didn't post Bloggy News for the past couple of weeks. I would say that is because we didn't get much books. Well, I did won a couple of them and I have to wait a long time to finally get them because of the holidays. I mostly got a lot of ebooks, especially from NetGalley. Edelweiss gave me two but one disappeared so I requested it on NG too.

For review:

  1. Dare You To by Katie McGarry
  2. The S Word by Chelsea Pitcher
  3. Riptide by Lindsey Scheibe
  4. Beautiful Bastard by Christian Lauren
  5. A Conspiracy of Alchemists by Liesel Schwarz

I am risking with reading Dare You To since I didn't really enjoy Pushing the Limits. But I have hope. I will lower my expectations and everything should be fine.

The S Word reminds me of Speechless which was one of the best books in 2012 only this one battles suicide and bullying so it's not completely the same.

Riptide is a story about a girl who loves to surf as you can tell from the cover. Will try and read it soon. I did swear I'll read more NG books,or at least stop requesting new titles.

Beautiful Bastard. Oh,Beautiful Bastard. You are another naughty edition of Twilight. I actually started reading this last month and there is too much swearing, even for my taste. Not sure if I'm gonna finish it.

Bought/Won:

  1. Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley
  2. Echo by Alyson Noel

Graffiti Moon is finally here! I've been wanting to read it since I found out it's an Aussie novel. Those Australian author must drink some special, magical water because they write the best books. Just so there isn't a misunderstanding. I didn't order it just because it's from Australia but also because the premise is interesting and something I've never read before.

I won Echo for the November New Release Giveaway Hop over at Proserpine Craving Books and it got here two weeks ago but I didn't wanted to post it all alone here, without a new friend on a shelf. So,thank you a lot +Proserpine Craving Books Will have to order the first part soon so I can start on this series. Hope it will be better than Noel's first series.

Read this week:

  1. 'Till the World Ends by Julie Kagawa, Ann Aguirre and Karen Duvall.
  2. A Beautiful Lie by T.E. Sivec
  3. Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan HERE is my review.

Will post the review for 'Till the World Ends closer to the release date-in the next couple of weeks. Sadly, all 3 books failed to impress me. I thought that Julie's story would bring back old memories of The Immortal Rules, but it was just too sappy.

Exciting news!

A couple of days ago I got my first MiraInk Spilled Ink newsletter! Don't know what a MiraInk Spilled Ink newsletter is?  Well, the publisher send out monthly newsletter featuring their new releases and whoever receives it gets to pick books from the list. So,this is what I chose.

  1. The Lost Prince by Julie Kagawa
  2. Touch of Power by Maria V. Snyder
  3. Scent of Magic by Maria V. Snyder
Can't wait to get them! They are so beautiful. These covers are so much better. I usually prefer US covers but not this time. Can't wait to hold them in my hands.

Bought:

  1. The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa
  2. Insignia by S.J. Kincaid
Even though The Iron King was a tad disappointing for me, The Iron Daughter totally redeemed itself! And I'm so excited for this one here! And I love the cover of my paperback! it's beautiful!

I've heard a lot about Insignia but I didn't really care much about the book. But when I saw it's paperback lying in the shelf of the bookstore , I knew I had to get it!

Along with all of this I also got,
For review:

  1. A Shimmer of Angels by Lisa M. Basso
  2. And All the Stars by Andrea K. Host

Read this week:

  1. Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi
  2. So I'm a Double Threat by Jule Prestsater

Bloggy News

What is happening fellow YA Fanatics? Did you get any good books this week? If you did, please, link us up!

I didn't get a lot this time. I didn't order much cause I've been broke since I spent tons of money last time.

BOUGHT:
Naughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman

Any respectable blogger had already heard of these books. I got this boxed set at such a low price- it was only 16euros!!! For some reason it was 51% off on The Book Depository. Can you believe that?
And I almost missed that amazing offer.
These new covers looks great, don't they? I'm glad there is a little bit of color, just to shake things up. Still haven't got a chance to read them, but I will,as soon as I find the time to finally read the actual paperback. It seems that all I'm doing lately is to read kindle titles and ignore my beautiful books that smell wonderful.

WON:
1, Falling by Jolene Perry
2. Scarlet Woods by Brooke Passmore

FOR REVIEW:
 1. 'Till World Ends by Julie Kagawa, Ann Aguirre and Karen Duvall
2. Indigo Awakening by Jordan Dane
3. Dancing in the Dark by Robyn Bavati

I'm not sure if I'll be reading Indigo Awakening and Dancing in the Dark but I have to know more about the world before The Immortal Rules.

I'm currently reading a memoir even if i am and I can just feel it's going to break my heart. 2 weeks ago I've read The Sea of Tranquility and I am still stunned how great that book was. It was so great,I had to stop myself from re-reading it right after finishing it. So if there is anybody looking for something like Pushing the Limits, you've found a perfect book because this is even better than PtL. I didn't like PtL at all,but a lot of people did. Almost all of my friends.

Once again,I'm joining 2 new reading challenges. Can't wait to start!

The challenge is to read every single 2013 release you own. Doesn't sound so bad, since I tend to ignore books after I get them. Only paperbacks, hardcovers and ARCs count.

You can learn more about this challenge HERE

You can sign up for this challenge HERE

The goal: To read as many sequels as you can. You set your goal at whatever number works for you.
  1. The challenge runs from January 1st to December 31st.
  2. Any books started before Jan. 1 will not count.
  3. Any book after the first book in a series counts, even novellas. Books in the same series also count.
  4. Sign ups will be open until December 1st, 2013.
  5. Add the URL of your challenge post to the linky widget. (If you'd like to wait, it's ok to use your blog URL and send your link when you get the post up)

I'm setting my goal at 10 sequels:
01.
02.
03.
04.
05.
06.
07.
08.
09.
10.

As for ongoing challenges I've managed to read 2 books out of 6 from my December reading challenge. Need to read faster!

Bloggy News

Zemira

So,these past few weeks I got a lot of books. Some I won and others I actually bought even though the hardcovers are expensive. So here is the list:

WON:
1. The Violet Eden Chapters by Jessica Shirvington at Joyous Reads
2. Crewel by Gennifer Albin at Book Haven Extraordinaire

BOUGHT:
1. Soul Screamers Volume Two by Rachel Vincent
2. The Brides of Rollrock Island by Margo Lanagan
3. Monstrous Beauty by Elizabeth Fama

I am so happy I finally bought The Brides of Rollrock Island and Monstrous Beauty because lately I've grown to love sea creatures. Soul Screamers Vol.2 is out and I still haven't read the first one. Need to change that very soon.

FOR REVIEW:
1. The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay

I actually got this book when it was first released as an indie ebook and after i heard it was going to come out in paperback I just had to request it on Net Galley as an encouragement so I can start it sooner.

I'm currently reading Across The Universe by Beth Revis which is driving me crazy with the description of absolutely everything on the freaking Godspeeed ship and Flawed by Kate Avelynn which is not impressing me yet. But almost all my friends loved it so,I hope I'll give it at least 3 stars in the end.

I'm joining December Read-along CREWEL on Book Twirps.

Should be fun!

I'm also planning to start with a couple of reading challenges to make things interesting because I've had a hard time actually finishing a book lately. Aside from the 2013 Paranormal Reading Challenge I talked about before I'm joining December 2012 Monthly Reading Challenge hosted by Young Adult Reads on Goodreads.

Categories in this challenge are:
1) A book with a RED cover
2) A book that starts with the letter C.
3) A book with a couple in the cover.
4) A book released on Dec 2012.
5) A book with a guy on the cover.
6) A book about mermaids.
7) A book with a white cover.
8) A book that you've read a long time ago (a re-read).
9) The oldest book on your (Goodreads) TBR.
10) A book of your choice from this list

I'm not sure if I'm going to read 10 books. Let's just see how it goes. Here are some I plan to read from the list:

Devyani

So this week was really eventful.
For one , I got to start on a good bloggy journey with partner Zemmy . Secondly , I got to sleep and read a lot. I got holidaaaays!
And thirdly , I reached my credit card limit.

But books are my baby and I love my babies.
So anything for them. Anyway , since my inner monologue is over , let’s begin with my list of books to read for the week!

 BOUGHT:

I’m currently reading The Perfect Game by J.Sterling and well , it’s just the beginning so I can’t say much. Although it pretty much did annoy me a little.
Now as to the books above , I’m so excited to read them!
Oh and you guys...

Doesn’t Bradley Cooper just steal your breath away?
JUST . LOOK . AT . HIM.

Also , I’ve heard so much about Double Clutch and Crewel!
And Seduced in the Dark...Well , it’s got Caleb in it!! CALEB!
The current love of my life and motivation of swooni-ness.
So basically the book before it , Captive in The Dark was a total make-my-head-explode kind of a book and it disgusted and terrified the hell out of me..but like I said , total MMHE (Make my head explode.) I loved how it turned out and I loved the note it ended at. It showed great promise and potential and so I’m pretty sure Seduced in Dark will blow me away.
You will won’t you , dear book?
And as for Dizzy , what a cute synopsis!

here’s a bit for you..

Dylan doesn’t do relationships. He and his older brother watched their dad go through hell and back, so they made a pact years ago—no girl would come between the Gibson boys. But his brother sells out. He's getting married anyway. To the sister of a chick Dylan met at a party, who's probably the angriest girl he's ever met. Unfortunately, she happens to be hot, too.
Ziah’s life is upside down—her safe boyfriend turns out to be not-so-safe, and now her sister is getting married before college is over to the older brother of a spoiled, party boy who drives her crazy. And also makes her heart beat too fast.
There’s no denying the attraction, but there's also no denying how much they irritate each other. When they’re thrown together as forced wedding planners, they find an ally in each other--neither wants this wedding to happen.
But instead of putting a stop to the crazy nuptials they find themselves at fittings and cake testing. And maybe even…a few dates?Dizzy is a novel about what happens when two people who are determined not to fall in love, maybe do anyway. Maybe.

Doesn’t it sound cool?
Oh I just can’t wait!
And The Fault In Our Stars , was always one I wanted to read and now that I have it in paperback..Oh where do I even begin?

So that’s all for this week! We’ll keep you posted with more.
Happy reading :D
